Coco Palm Resorts is delighted to announce that renowned Italian chef Igor Macchia, of La Credenza Restaurant, San Maurizio Canavese, Piedmont will be a special guest chef at Coco Palm Bodu Hithi from 30th January to 5th February 2011. Mr. Macchia, a Michelin star chef, is well known for his contemporary and eclectic take on Piedmonts Italian cuisine as one of Italy’s most promising young chefs.
Before opening La Credenza, Mr Macchia acquired extensive experience around the world including at Michelin starred establishments such as Restaurant du Lion d’or in Geneva, Restaurant le Gavroche in London and Restaurant Bruneau in Brussells.
Mr. Macchia is also well known for frequent lengthy trips abroad to different parts of the world both to promote his cuisine and quality Italian ingredients as well as to increase his culinary knowledge and to broaden his mind. “This is one of the motives for travelling,” adds Macchia. “To find new stimuli and new cultures to merge with those of Italy and, in short, to obtain the mix of flavours that can be sampled at the “Credenza”.
During his stay at Coco Palm Bodu Hithi Mr. Macchia will prepare a unique menu for the Aqua overwater fine dining restaurant. The exclusive wine partner for this special event will be the Frescobaldi winery of Tuscany.
