World-music sensation to kick off first Enlighten


London-based Afro Celt Sound System has been confirmed as the opening act for the inaugural on Friday 11 March.

Direct from WOMADelaide, the cutting-edge world-music group will play support to legendary crooner, George Benson, promising to captivate audiences with their remarkable fusion of West African rhythms, Irish traditional music and cutting edge dance beats.

ENLIGHTEN will also feature concerts by Chris Isaak (Friday 18 March), Frankie Valli & the Four Seasons (Saturday 19 March) as well as amazing architectural lighting, unique after-dark experiences at national attractions and a vibrant event hub on the stunning foreshore of Lake Burley Griffin.

The National Gallery of Australia, the Museum of Australian Democracy at Old Parliament House and Parliament House will also be part of the ENLIGTHEN experience, opening their doors after dark with special one-off activities and spectacularly lit facades.

ENLIGHTEN tickets range from $45 to $145. Tickets are on sale.
