From October 30 this year, Lufthansa will service its South-East Asian gateway in Singapore with a brand new Airbus A380.
General Manager of Lufthansa German Airlines Australia, Kai Peters said: “Our Australian passengers can now for the first time fly all the way to Frankfurt on the world’s largest aircraft – combining the latest Lufthansa A380 with an A380 codeshare flight of our Star Alliance partner Singapore Airlines. Travellers already love to connect via this world class hub, but the new Frankfurt- Singapore service with Lufthansa’s flagship will make a journey to Europe even more attractive.”
Lufthansa is the leading European airline group with the largest network of European destinations. Together with its partners Austrian Airlines, bmi, Brussels Airlines and Swiss International Airlines, Lufthansa offers 156 European destinations in over 30 countries.
“With the introduction of the A380 service Lufthansa will also increase its capacity at Singapore’s Changi Airport by 25 per cent. The increased capacity fits perfectly with the ever growing demand Lufthansa Australia is experiencing especially to the Singapore gateway,” said Kai Peters.
The airline is well prepared for further growth and further improvements for its Australian passengers with the opening of a new runway at Frankfurt airport this winter and a completely new gate-area at Lufthansa’s exclusive terminal to open in the coming months.
Along with the new A380, Lufthansa is introducing its completely new First Class and Economy Class cabins alongside its award winning Business Class to the South East Asian market. Lufthansa has developed this new cabin together with many oft its frequent flying customers and, for the first time, has introduced commercial jetliner technologies and materials from Lufthansa Technik’s private-jet workshop in Hamburg.
