Broadcaster Steve Liebmann will join Australian guests aboard the Avalon Luminary next year for a luxury river cruise timed with the spring tulip blooms in the Netherlands.
Departing March 31, 2012, the eight-day Tulip Time Cruise explores the best of the Dutch waterways as well as the picturesque towns of neighbouring Belgium.
It is priced from $2259* per person twin share, with a bonus free night in Amsterdam available for bookings made by December 31, 2011*.
The cruise is also available with earlybird savings of $750 per couple when booked with an airfare or $500 per couple cruise only, if booked by September 30, 2011*.
The Tulip Time Cruise will be Steve Liebmann’s seventh as Avalon Waterways’ Australian ambassador.
“I’ve seen some spectacular scenery along rivers like the Rhône, Danube and Rhine, but the timing of this next cruise couldn’t be better for its visual impact,” he said. “Millions of tulips and other flowers will be coming into bloom and we’ll be able to enjoy classic Dutch landscapes among the canals and windmills.”
The cruise begins and ends in Amsterdam, offering a chance to explore its famous canals and bridges, and travels to other scenic cities including Antwerp and Ghent. Highlights include the World Heritage-listed windmills of Kinderdijk and the millions of bulbs at the 70-acre gardens of Keukenhof.
