Tigerair has signed a distribution partnership with Travelport, making fares and ancillary content available to Travelport-connected agents globally.
This is the first time Tigerair has ever distributed via the global distribution system (GDS) channel.
The low-cost carrier will be the first airline from the Asia-Pacific region to adopt Travelport’s aggregated shopping technology, a leading component of the Travelport Merchandising Platform.
Travelport Aggregated Shopping negates the need to shop and compare across several screens, allowing travel agents to compare efficiently in the same booking flow, according to the GDS.
“Travelport’s merchandising platform allows us to display our fares alongside those of traditional carriers and reach the travel agency community more easily,” Tigerair group chief commercial officer Alexander Knigge said.
Tigerair Singapore, Tigerair Mandala (Indonesia) and Tigerair Philippines’ content will all be bookable for agents using the Travelport GDS.
