The Peninsula also received the best-in-class score for its company website, social media, brand image and salaries, and was acclaimed as one of the top three hotel employers for learning opportunities, further education support and non-monetary benefits.
The YHS Hotel Employer Ranking has the aim of putting global hotel companies in the spotlight by uncovering the perception of young talent worldwide. Results of the survey indicated that students and recent graduates place a particularly high importance on career and learning opportunities as well as a proper level of empowerment at work.
Respondents included more than 1,000 hospitality students from top hotel management schools in 99 countries.
YHS said the results of the survey were not controlled for the size of the company, which might put larger companies in an advantageous position. The number one global hotel employer was Starwood, which owns or manages almost 1,200 properties worldwide and has 181,000 employees compared with The Peninsula Hotels’ nine hotels and 5,000 employees.
