The Global Business Travel Association (GBTA) – the voice of the global business travel industry – today announced that Michael O’Leary, Ryanair CEO, will be a featured speaker at Centre Stage during this year’s GBTA Conference 12-14 November in Berlin, being delivered in partnership with German business travel buyer association VDR.
Mr O’Leary will talk to delegates about how Ryanair revolutionized the airline model in Europe, the company’s strategy for the corporate travel market and its plans for its new distribution platform including Travelport and Google.
“We promised pioneers and masters of disruption and no-one fits that bill better than Michael O’Leary,” said Catherine McGavock, GBTA’s Regional Director for EMEA. “I am delighted to welcome him as a featured speaker at conference this year and I have no doubt that this session will inspire, enlighten and inform on the future of aviation distribution.”
“European Aviation is set for radical change over the next few years and Ryanair plans to be at the centre during this change.” said Ryanair CEO, Michael O’Leary. “For decades Ryanair has been providing European customers with low cost choice and we’re not afraid to challenge the market with new thinking. By November Ryanair will be rolling out an unbeatable business travel proposition and the GBTA audience is a great engagement opportunity. I look forward to sharing my thoughts and plans and my deep love for business travel agents in this session.”
Mr O’Leary became CEO of Ryanair in 1993 and built it into Europe’s biggest passenger airline. Over the next five years Ryanair will grow from carrying 80m to over 110m customers each year.
The event brings together GBTA’s annual conference in Europe with German partner association VDR’s autumn symposium to create Europe’s foremost business travel conference, expected to attract more than 650 delegates from over 20 countries.
Registration is now open.
