THAI Invites ROP Members to Donate for “Miles Give Kids A Smile” Project

223082a Flying Officer Suraphon Israngura Na Ayuthya, THAI Acting Executive Vice President of Commercial Department, and Dr. Prapon Tangsrikertikul, Deputy Director General, Department of Medical Services, signed an MOU for the “Miles Give Kids A Smile” project for the Queen Sirikit National Institute of Child Health, on the auspicious occasion of the royal birthday anniversary of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit. Royal Orchid Plus miles donated by members will go toward air tickets for disadvantaged children in need of medical services.

Flying Officer Suraphon Israngura Na Ayuthya said, “As THAI’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is part of the Company’s business strategy, signing the MOU with the Queen Sirikit National Institute of Children Health will help children receive medical care.” THAI aims to collect 9 million miles from Royal Orchid Plus members during 1 September – 31 December 2014, through its website at

223082bThe donated miles the Queen Sirikit National Institute receive can be converted into air tickets on THAI for children and their family to travel to medical facilities, and for physicians to travel to ASEAN countries for medical training in child health care.

The Queen Sirikit National Institute is responsible for providing general medical assistance to over 370,000 children, most of who have cancer, heart diseases, and neurological disorder.

Since 2004, THAI has continued to support ROP miles donation for various CSR projects in the area of health, education, and sports. In 2012, THAI raised and donated funds toward the construction of a children’s medical building.
