Thredbo, Australia’s premier ski resort, has announced a massive line-up of artists and events for this year’s One Hit Wonder Mountain Festival. From 9th to 13th September the alpine resort will transform into a mecca of music, big air skiing, snowboarding, and of course, the best winter après fun in Australia.
In what’s set to be the biggest week in Thredbo this season, the One Hit Wonder Mountain Festival will see some of Australia’s hottest music acts dominating stages throughout the resort.
Leading the line-up is rising DJ and producer Alison Wonderland, whose latest EP Calm Down peaked at number one on the iTunes Australia Electronic Chart. Festival favourites Miami Horror and The Aston Shuffle will be joining Alison Wonderland on the bill, providing DJ sets and electro anthems, including The Aston Shuffle’s well-known track ‘Tear it Down’, to the revellers of Thredbo.
Rounding out the festival’s music will be Panama, Young Franco, Leah Mencel, The Delta Riggs and LDRU who will each ensure dance floors throughout the village are packed with music lovers and snow bunnies alike. Each artist will be playing in a unique location in the village in true festival style.
To coincide with the impressive music line up, the Toyota One Hit Wonder Big Air ski event will provide the festival with world class sporting action as the best freestyle skiers compete in the Southern Hemisphere’s most prestigious snow event and its only gold-ranked big air competition.
Looking to create the biggest snow jump this side of the equator, this year’s Toyota One Hit Wonder Big Air will introduce a brand new format of big air competition to the Association of Freeskiing Professionals (AFP) World Tour. Challenged by Olympians and rookies alike, this year’s event will introduce “The Game Show”. In this new format, competitors will participate in five rounds with the winner of each round presented with an ultimatum – take the cash or go double or nothing. With a prize pool of over $10,000 up for grabs – the largest cash prize in Australian free skiing – the Toyota One Hit Wonder Big Air winner will have to showcase style, consistency and technicality as they battle it out over three days of intense competition.
All entertainment during this huge week is free for visitors. With some incredible September snow specials and accommodation packages available from under $160 a night, coupled with one of the best snow seasons in decades, this year’s One Hit Wonder Mountain Festival is certainly not to be missed.
