Visitors to Thailand during the peak travel season of November to January will not be going home empty-handed with gifts; such as, Thai silk scarfs and iPads awaiting, as part of the Thailand Spectacular Year End campaign brought to you by the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), Visa, and the Ratchaprasong Square Trade Association (RSTA).
Millions of visitors who come to Thailand, and particularly Bangkok, during the high season for the New Year celebration will be welcomed with discounts and privileges at hotels, restaurants, and shops in the Ratchaprasong district, the shopping heart of Bangkok. The offers start from 22 November, 2014 to 31 January, 2015.
Vilaiwan Twichasri, TAT’s Deputy Governor for Tourism Products and Business said “This year’s Spectacular Year End celebration, in its second installment, will be held in the Ratchaprasong area because of its status as the preferred location for foreign visitors and locals alike when it comes to the New Year Countdown. Customers who spend 5,000 Baht or more on goods and services from one of the many world-class shopping malls in this square mile will have the chance to redeem presents at two Spectacular Year End booths conveniently located at the Gaysorn’s entry at the Chidlom BTS Sky Train Station and the proximity of the Erawan Bangkok Shopping Centre.
“With cooperation from the Bangkok Metropolitan Authority in promoting this campaign throughout the capital, we are expecting a 15% increase in spending on Visa cards in Ratchaprasong during this festive season,” Added Mrs. Vilaiwan.
Somboon Krobteeranon, Visa Country Manager, Thailand said “This campaign is a good example of how Visa can connect millions of its cardholders travelling to Thailand with businesses in ways that benefit all. Tapping into Visa’s deep knowledge of cross-border travel, we are taking into consideration the whole customer journey and have put together special privileges that will delight visitors, starting right from when they book their accommodation.”
The Thailand Spectacular Year End includes discounts for rooms at hotels within the Ratchaprasong square mile; such as, St. Regis, Renaissance Bangkok, InterContinental, Holiday Inn, Centara Grand at CentralWorld, and Novotel Platinum Pratunam, when booked from the hotels’ respective websites. “The specially tailored campaign aims to attract visitors from Thailand’s top inbound countries; namely, the United States, the United Kingdom, Japan and Australia, as well as growing source markets; such as, Russia, China, and South East Asian neighbours,” added Mr. Somboon.
The Ratchaprasong Square, situated at the heart of Bangkok’s shopping district, is home to famous world-class establishments and also attractions; such as, the Erawan Shrine.
