TAT wooing Spanish tourists with Andrés Velencoso
The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) Rome Office expects the number of Spanish travellers to Thailand to increase by five per cent this year, following the airing of travel documentaries of Thai attractions hosted by Spanish top model Andrés Velencoso on Spain’s Cuatro TV.
Ms Jittima Sukpalin, the Director of TAT Rome office said, “We have lent our support to the producers of PlanetaCalleja during the filming of their Thailand episodes. We hope that the beautiful sceneries of Thai attractions along with the captivating first-hand stories by Andrés Velencoso will entice Spanish travellers to travel to Thailand to experience by themselves our beautiful country in the footsteps of their beloved Spanish heartthrob.”
In 2014, Thailand attracted a total of 116,555 travellers from Spain. The average length of stay of Spanish travellers in Thailand in 2013 is about two weeks, and the average daily expenditure is about US$120.
The Thailand episodes of PlanetaCalleja are expected to be aired on Cuatro TV and the programme’s social media channels around the end of this year.
