A free, chauffeur-driven, private car transfer to the airport and a discount of $200 per couple are being offered by Australian agency, Active Travel, for bookings made by October 31, 2015, on a new, seven-day, spring tour showcasing the stately gardens and castles in and around London, including the world-famous Chelsea Flower Show.

Beginning on May 20, 2016, the regal ‘Gardens of London’ horticultural adventure, run with guided tour company, Collette, and the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS), will see Australian garden and culture lovers spend six nights at London’s stately Grange Strathmore Hotel, a converted Victorian mansion and once home to the late Queen Mother’s father, the Earl of Strathmore.

After dinner in a traditional British pub and introductory tour of London featuring Buckingham Palace and Big Ben, guests will be taken each day on guided day trips showcasing some of the world’s great gardens and castles, including London’s World Heritage-listed Kew Gardens and Hampton Court Palace – once the abode of feisty King Henry VIII in the 1500s.

Guests will also visit Windsor to walk through the sprawling Wisley Estate – famed as the finest woodland garden in England, as well as the beautiful ornamental sanctuaries of The Savill Gardens. A visit to Windsor Castle – a working Royal residence since the 1070s ,is also included.

A highlight of the tour is a visit to the spectacular, world-renowned Chelsea Flower Show in London on the opening day, which is otherwise open to RHS members only. A farewell dinner cruise on the Thames completes the itinerary.

Including six nights’ accommodation, nine meals, daily touring, gardens and castle entry and a $100 per person earlybird discount, the ‘Gardens of London’ tour is available from AUD$3959 per person, twin-share.

Bookings made by October 31, 2015, by travellers who live within 40km of a major airport will also receive a free, chauffeur-driven, private car transfer to the airport in Melbourne, Brisbane, Sydney, Adelaide, Cairns, Hobart, Perth, Darwin or Canberra.
