Seat/Cabin conditions:

The new B777 SWISS Business Class is an improvement on what was already an excellent inflight product. The cabin retains the SWISS five-across seating configuration with alternating rows of 1-2-2 and 2-2-1. Although all the seats on the aircraft are exactly the same, the single seats provide extra personal space with tables on both sides of the seat. There are no fewer than three reading lights in various positions as well as five storage areas ranging from a narrow glovebox under the video screen to a two-level, slide-out cabinet. The thought that went into the spatial design is evident both in what is visible and what is not. The seat has a massage function and is adjustable in many different ways. Of course, the seats open to completely flat beds for sleeping or relaxing.

Food And Beverage:

Flying SWISS in Business Class means that food is of a high calibre and is accompanied by a range of beverages which includes excellent Swiss wines, virtually unknown outside their country of origin. Both Asian and Western meals were offered on the menu. After dessert, Swiss chocolates are served―a memorable gesture.

The upgrade in video screens on the B777 is evident without the screen even being turned on. It looks very smart and advanced, and it is. The screen quality is high, and the selection of video and audio entertainment can be controlled via both a handset or directly on the touchscreen.

The flight arrived 15 minutes early and disembarkation was fast, as was the Immigration

process. As at most major European airports, the baggage delivery time is shown above the carousel, so there is no wondering when the luggage will show up.

SWISS has been expanding its route network and bringing in new aircraft both for shorthaul and longhaul travel, the Boeing 777 being the new flagship of the fleet. With a demanding home market and travellers the world over harbouring expectations of excellence associated with Brand Switzerland in general, SWISS comes up with the goods and certainly delivers an outstanding flight experience. This daytime flight from Asia to Europe is well timed to help avoid jetlag on arrival and enjoy Switzerland from the very first day.
