Lufthansa LH778 FRA-SIN A380 Business Class
Date: 07 September 2016
Flight Number: LH778 dep FRA @ 21:55 Duration: 11h45m
Aircraft: Airbus A380-800
Frankfurt Airport is one of the busiest in the world, but the terminal is so big that there is enough space for everyone. It was a relatively quiet Wednesday evening check-in; there was no queue at the Business Class counter and the entire process was easy and quick. After passing through the security process, passengers were greeted by an Oktoberfest band playing music in the duty-free area to give a nice last impression of Germany during one of the country’s most popular annual events. Business Class passengers have access to no less than eight Lufthansa Business Class lounges in FRA before departure where food, drinks, business services, and relaxation areas all cater to the various needs of the airline’s travellers.
The flight departed Frankfurt on time and arrived in Singapore exactly on time.
Lufthansa’s Business Class on this A380 aircraft was divided into two sections on the upper deck with 56 and 24 seats in each for a total of 80 Business Class seats. In contrast to other airlines’ Business Class cabins where individual seats are almost like self-contained capsules, Lufthansa has opted for an open and airy atmosphere, with space between seats and a more open plan for it s 2-2-2 configuration.
Food And Beverage:
An array of food and beverages is presented in the Business Class menu, with selections for various dietary preferences and requirements.
At first glance, the entertainment screen looks to be a challenge; in its stowed position; it is not in line with the seat. Clever design, however, allays any fears of viewing askew; the screen rotates and slides to the exact position preferred by the viewer. A wide selection of audio and visual entertainment is available. The noise-cancelling Bose headphones are the the best I have ever used and block out almost all the ambient noise to allow for better concentration in the entertainment, though of course the A380 is already a quiet jet compared to most other commercial aircraft.
The flight arrived on time and there was no queue at Immigration. Bags were delivered within five minutes. All very easy and efficient.
Lufthansa provided an all-around excellent service starting from the advantage of a state of the art airport facility in Frankfurt and carried through on this aircraft and undoubtedly on all its planes throughout the world. This flight to Singapore was exemplary of the expectation of high quality from Lufthansa’s passengers and the airline itself and the delivery of that high quality both on the ground and in the air.
