Air France KLM appoints new country manager for Indonesia

AIR FRANCE KLM is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Dirk Buitelaar as the airline group’s Country Manager for Indonesia.

Mr. Dirk Buitelaar succeeds Mr Axel Colen as the new Country Manager of AIR FRANCE KLM group with effect from 26 July 2010. Mr. Axel Colen will take his new position as the Flying Blue Partnership Manager based in Amsterdam.

Mr. Dirk Buitelaar began his career with KLM in 1996 and he brings an impressive track record and valuable airline experience to the AIR FRANCE KLM operations in Indonesia. With his expertise in the aviation field and experience including previous Management positions in Guinea, the Ivory Coast, Nigeria and Belgium, he is well-poised to oversee the further development of our marketing strategies, sales and positioning of the airline group in this region.

“Indonesia is a key market for AIR FRANCE KLM and I am looking forward together with our very experienced team to further strengthening our position and market share in this country. I am confident that together with our business partners we will succeed in building on the existing foundation. My family and I are looking forward to making Indonesia our new home,” says Dirk.

Prior to his new position as AIR FRANCE KLM Country Manager for Indonesia, he was AIR FRANCE KLM’s Commercial Director for the Mekong region based in Bangkok, Thailand.
