Tourism Fiji appoints new Regional Manager for Australia

Tourism Fiji is pleased to announce the appointment of its new Regional Manager – Australia, Hal Caldwell.

With two decades of experience in marketing and branding roles across Australia, Asia Pacific and the United Kingdom, Hal now manages Tourism Fiji’s Australian consumer marketing activities, while working in close consultation with the tourism body’s Trade Partnerships Manager, Jason Sacriz, who commenced working with Tourism Fiji earlier this year.

Leading Tourism Fiji’s expanding team within the Australian office, Hal commenced his role this week.

In welcoming Hal to the position, Tourism Fiji CEO, Matthew Stoeckel said Hal’s appointment marks an exciting new era in Tourism Fiji’s Australian market operations.

“As we build on our team of experts in Australia – the single largest source market for Fiji tourism – we’re confident Hal will assist us in continuing to drive growth from Australia, and enhancing Fiji’s reputation as an ideal holiday destination.

“Hal holds an impressive track record as an exemplary brand builder and strong strategic leader, and Tourism Fiji is delighted to welcome Hal’s results-driven and fresh style of leadership to the benefit of our Australian office,” Mr Stoeckel said.

Hal recently oversaw the successful global rebrand of fintech company OFX, and spent seven years in senior marketing, brand and design positions at Qantas. Furthermore, Hal has worked in direct sales and marketing for Qantas and British Airways and has extensive experience in liaising with tourism bodies.

“Fiji has so much to offer Australian holidaymakers and I’m honoured and raring to help inspire more Australians to discover Fiji’s unique appeal as a destination where happiness really does find you,” Hal Caldwell said.

Father to an energetic eight year old son, Hal is an avid traveller, surfer and cyclist.  Hal grew up in Hong Kong and describes himself as a lifelong fan of the Flying Fijians.
