When and why did you join the industry?

1982, the love for flying fascinated me from a young age

What do you like most about your job?

Anjuna as the APG representative in Australia, New Zealand, Canada & South Pacific Islands we represent 28 airlines across these territories giving us access to the largest global GSA network. Through this platform we continuously advance distribution efficiencies on behalf of our client airlines through the use of new technology, analytics and big data.

What’s one of the biggest achievements of your career so far?

Using next generation cloud based telephony technology to deliver both business phone and contact services, combining a multi-channel platform which enables a “follow-the-sun” concept to link our two operational hubs of Los Angeles & Sydney. In addition, we’ve connected all global sales offices in Singapore, Sydney, Auckland, Los Angeles, New York, Miami, Montreal, Toronto, Vancouver & Zurich through this same platform. We’ve achieved this in 18 months since launch.

What’s the best advice ever given to you and who gave it?

A very robust and enthusiastic team of people who are very analytically focussed with a thorough knowledge of the market, and the ability to proactively engage with our clients to drive their business forward

What destinations are on your travel bucket list?

Israel and Russia

What’s a memorable travel experience you’ve had (good or bad)?

Great – Most memorable vacation last month to Kenya, Tanzania and Rwanda and the experience of trekking to spend 1:1 time with the Gorilla’s

What are three things you always take with you when travelling?

Credit card, camera and an open mind!

What direction do you see the industry heading in over the next five to ten years?

Whilst travel has become more affordable, it has also become very competitive and over the last 5 years. Consumers are well educated and using every opportunity to negotiate and get the best deal online. It is therefore paramount that we as the airlines & GSA’s are in the forefront to protect the travel agency network and focus in delivering 5star customer service even when things go wrong.
