Ramada Resort Phillip Island is bracing for a bumper weekend as racing enthusiasts flock to the region for Island Magic 2017.

Being held on November 25 and 26, the iconic event will feature the Saloon Car Nationals 2017, with a field of 30 Holden and Ford six cylinders taking to the track, as well as the 50K Plate for sports sedans, backed by Ramada Phillip Island for the 11th consecutive year.

Resort Manager Damien Larkin said the resort is proud to support the event, which is a favourite among racing fans and the accommodation of choice for drivers.

“Island Magic is always a big event for us and we will be running at close to 100 per cent occupancy for the weekend,” Mr Larkin said.

“This event gives people an opportunity to experience live racing, all while enjoying the spectacular scenery and fun atmosphere at the world-famous Phillip Island Circuit.”

A document check will be held for event participants at Ramada Phillip Island’s Numbers Restaurant and Bar on Friday night from 5.30pm, where the public can meet drivers, teams and officials.

Phillip Island Auto Racing Club President Geoff Bull said he was looking forward to the event.

“Island Magic is a great way for both competitors and spectators to finish up a year’s racing at Australia’s most picturesque and challenging race circuit,” Mr Bull said.

“This is a family friendly event, with free parking and trackside viewing from your own car available. We’ve also kept prices affordable so everyone can enjoy a great weekend on the track.”

Tickets to Island Magic cost $30 for a weekend pass and all accompanied kids under 16 are free. For more details, visit www.piarc.com.au
