New earthquake hits off Indonesia’s East Java coastline
A 6.4 magnitude earthquake hit parts of Indonesia this morning, Thursday 11 October 2018, with tremors felt at Bali’s most popular holiday destinations. The epicentre of the quake was at around 40 kilometres off the coast line of East Java, leaving a trail of damage on the small island of Sapudi. Unfortunately, a few local lives were lost in this natural disaster on this island. Asian Trails deeply regrets the loss of lives of these local residents and our thoughts are with those affected by this tragedy.
No reports of any damage have reached our Bali office from both islands: we are in contact with all our customers on Bali and Java to ensure that they are okay and accounted for.
Please contact your Asian Trails representative if you have any questions about clients who are currently in Indonesia, and they more than happy to advise further.
We will keep you updated with any further updates in due course and when needed.
