The China Southern Airlines (CZ) A380 is one of five ordered by China’s largest airline, which flies twice daily to Sydney, daily to Melbourne and three times a week to Brisbane and Auckland.
“Growth on our route is so strong we would love to be getting our first A380 onto the Guangzhou-Sydney run,” said China Southern’s Australia Region General Manager Henry He. “But North America and Europe also have their hand up, so we will see what happens.”
Mr He said China Southern was delighted to be now code-sharing with SkyTeam partner KLM as a means of offering Australian and New Zealand passengers easy access to Amsterdam and Europe via its Guangzhou hub.
“New visa arrangements and codeshare deals with carriers as diverse as Japan Airlines, Malaysia Airlines and Pakistan International Airlines have greatly increased the number of countries our passengers can now reach via Guangzhou,” Mr He added.
