The Scottish Exhibition + Conference Centre (SECC) will release final details of The Hydro for the first time this EIBTM. In a detailed briefing, the SECC will bring to life what the inside experience will be for Europe’s most exciting new venue.
The 12,000 seat Scottish National Arena, or The Hydro, will launch in September 2013 in Glasgow. The new venue will complete the SECC campus, which will then deliver three purpose built venues for conferences, exhibitions and live experiences, all on the same site and linked together with walkways and thoroughfares.
The campus will also boast on site parking, three hotels, restaurants, bars, a train station, and will be situated within easy access of Glasgow Airport and a ten-minute walk to Glasgow city centre. A further hotel is planned on the site.
“As one of the biggest new venue launches in Europe next year, EIBTM was a natural choice to announce full details of The Hydro experience,” commented Ben Goedegebuure, Sales Director of the SECC. “This is big news for Glasgow and the European events industry and we’re delighted to be launching this alongside Glasgow City Marketing Bureau.’
The Hydro has been purpose built for bringing to life live experiences and will be hosting its first events in September.
