On 8 July 2010, Silversea’s 296-guest Silver Cloud met her smaller sibling, the 132-guest expedition ship Prince Albert II, in the Norwegian city of Tromso.
The two ships happened to be on intersecting itineraries, with Silver Cloud on a series of round-trip Copenhagen voyages, exploring Northern Europe and the Baltic, and Prince Albert II in the middle of its Arctic season of expeditions to the Svalbard archipelago, Iceland, Greenland and the Canadian Arctic.
Silver Cloud will remain in Northern Europe and the Baltic until September, when she heads to the Mediterranean for five 10-12 day sailings, followed by a series of festive voyages in the Caribbean, Mexico and the USA.Prince Albert II‘s Arctic season ends in September, when the vessel embarks on three Central American expeditions. The Antarctic season then runs from November to February 2011, with 8 round-trip Ushuaia voyages navigating Drake’s Passage and the Antarctic Peninsula.
